Over the last week I have explored game's users interface. The user interface makes it easier for a player to understand what is going on in the game. For example the HUD or Heads Up Display in first person shooters shows you your health, and ammo and other essentials you may need to access quickly in gameplay. It can not be overly big to where it gets in the way of the player i.e. the map can not take up half of the screen. It has to be proportional to the screen. The user interface also controls how the controls input buttons are. This includes your basic actions on the controller or keyboard one uses to operate the game.

Over the last few weeks I've been researching copy right laws and game designers.I have learned that there are a lot of laws that go around designing video games or any work really. I find some of it cool while some of it disturbing. There is a double standard to game designs. it seems that the people/or companies that get sued for violating copyright are the small ones. While large gaming companies can get away with it such as Rockstar gaming. Then there are other games that use logos and other things that if found out they get sued instantly. So why should Small companies get sued while the large ones can do what ever they want?
Last week I had to make an infographic about the video game industry. Originally I was going to do Afghanistan but after some research I found that only 3 or 4 cities have internet. I guess in other cities the wires are used for other things. I also learned that they love to play paintball. So they use rubber pellets until they turn 21 then they get to use real bullets.(Sorry about my little rant, I rant when stressed and tired). So at the last minute I decided to do Poland. Turns out that Poland has a growing game industry. They are most known for "The Witcher " series. They follow the PEGI European rating scale and have a free market with no banned videogames.
Over the last week I have been researching Copyright laws and close calls between major companies, big companies against lone individuals. I have found that the line is not as straight as it seems because Rockstar games creator of the GTA series can get away with creating similar styles and concepts of cars and people. While in the case of Associated Press Vs Fairey. This case was about when a street artist took a picture of Obama and change it to be an political advertisement. The picture on the left is the one the Associated Press took. The one on the right is what Fairey did. They decided to split the profits from Faireys image.
