The other day my class participated in the hour code. This was a fun thing to do because I had not ever done coding before. It was really easy. It was like solving a puzzle. how do I get him from here to there through a maze. I did the one with the angry bird. So I had to click and drag movements over into the "do" section and then hit run to make the bird move a certain way to get to the pig. These included turn right, turn left, move forwards, repeat and do until objective is reached. This basically taught me the basics of coding. So at least when I go into code writing I will have some knowledge about the basics of coding. I think the best way for me to get better with coding is doing mazes in a book and writing out the steps I have to take to get out of the base. This reiterates the "how do I get from here to there."

In this post I will talk about the variables. "You want the truth, I'll give you the truth". You see the truth is, I am super good at math and always have a 90 or above in the class. So I already knew how to read charts and graphs. I also kind of already knew a little about writing scientific reports because I've taken many science classes and done many labs.
What was very useful was using Microsoft Excel to automatically put my statistics in a chart and graph. However, you need to allow more time for future students to explore Excel and that goes for any new program. Another problem was how it was hard to follow you when you were giving us a demo because it projected so small. I don't know how to fix this, but if you could it would be helpful. You can argue for the sake of the whole project that the most useful tool was the sensor. That way you can sense the temperature. The second most useful tool was the smart phone with the app so we could read the data. |
