Friday we went to this US2020 STEM and Art expo. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and mathematics. At the expo there were demos that were set up to show how art and STEM relate. Some of these included making a lava lamp, working with sounds, and virtual reality. We got to sit down with people who are in those career fields and hear what it is like doing that profession. It was good for me because I got exposed to more careers that relate to modeling and design. I liked the mentoring session because I got to hear what it is like doing that job and how they got to where they are now. I disliked the beginning mostly because it wasn't much than a time waster, set up to allow them time to set up for the expo. One thing I learned from the expo is how that all of the experts that I talked to, work in teams or in a group. I realized that no one does anything alone. This relates to my interest of being a game designer because it means that I don't have to draw everything out if that's not my job. I could be the producer modeler instead of the character artist.

A time when I started a project with out a problem was when I was in biology. I was given a project to choose from a list of genetic diseases. Before I chose one I started researching and putting my presentation together. This started causing problems because the research I found out was not related to the problem I needed to find out. So at that point my research failed and I had to start all over. If I had stated the problem from the beginning I would have planned out my project and it would have been more organized. My research would have been correct the first time. That is why before I start anything I plan it out so that mistake won't happen again.
Theme is what the game revolves around. Everything in the game is somehow related to the game. For example GTAV's theme is that there are no rules. This can be seen when you can run over 10 people before you get a wanted level. A player can go and steal a car by throwing the guy out of the car. The designer incorporated all of these little details that connect back to the theme. This is a truth based theme because everyone knows that you can not run over ten people without getting wanted. We know we can not seal other's cars.
