This tool has been so helpful in attaching items to other items. The picture below is the dice I made I used the Boolean tool to put the numbers on them. I can use the Boolean tool to make two items one and get rid of the overlap. Right now I am using the tool to put house numbers on a model neighborhood that I am making. Needless to say this tool is one of the main tools any modeler will use when using 3ds max.

So I learned how to use a new modifier as the title implies it was the lathe tool. This tool is pretty neat because i can draw a 2d shape and attach the lathe modifier to it and it spins the shape around an axis. This is helpful for creating table legs, chair legs, and turns out it makes good chess pieces. I am glad that i have gotten this tool under my belt because i have a feeling it will help me in the future with modeling interior design of rooms or the suspension for bridges.
Jan Jinda is a 3D modeler who worked for the movie: Dunkirk. She got to model some of the scenes with the warships in them.She uses the same software that we use 3Ds Max. I personally find this aspect inspiring because she modeled something real. If I would ever use modeling in the work place it would be to market a product.I admire the amount of detail it takes to model something like a warship which she did. Although she did this for a movie it made me realize that I could potentially use 3D modeling to pitch a design for a new warship to the U.S Navy or a new style of tank to the Army. By the end of the School year I am going to try and emulate her work by Modeling a U.S Navy aircraft carrier. To do this I will improve on my texturing skills and advanced compound object modeling techniques, and will combine everything I learn through out the year.

Link to her website: https://janjinda.com/ Another handy Compound Object tool in the loft tool.The Loft tool lets you create a 3D shape on a line. You draw the 2D shape and then you draw a line. You Select the line and click loft then get shape and click on the shape. You can set a percentage for example if you selected 50 only half of that line will be affected. This is really good for making tools such as screwdrivers and hammers because you can control each segment of the line. So i can get the texture of a screwdriver and have it get thinner and thinner. Or for a hammer where you need different sized circles for the handle and the hammer part.I believe that the Loft tool is a tool I will end up using more frequently.Below is a hammer I modeled with the Loft technique.
So over the last month I have been working in 3Ds Max using splines and compound objects to create 3D objects. One of the tools that I found the most useful was the scatter function. This function allows you to select an object for example a plane then lets you click on an object and it randomly duplicates the object all over the object that you selected prior.This is helpful because it can let you randomly place rocks or trees in a scene. I had to use scatter to make a cactus. I used the Scatter on the needles and the rocks.See below for the Cactus I modeled.
So I have realized that I need to update my portfolio alot. To start I need more artwork in my portfolio even though I would not be applying for an artistic job with in the Game Industry. I have also realized that there are just a few things along the sides of my blog that I need to update like about the author. I need to upload a new copy of my resume. I will also be adding a new blog category called DDA-II for Digital Design & Animation 2. There is an importance to your portfolio because companies look at it to help determine if you get hired or not.So in conclusion I will be updating my portfolio very soon.

This year I've learned a lot about game design. From learning about the different roles on a production team, to knowing the process which a game is developed. I've learned how to create advanced 3D models using Adobe Fuse. But the newest thing I've learned how to do is use Adobe Premiere to create videos. However this year I made a 3D game with Unity, which is on my website. The lessons that had the biggest impact was the video and audio aspects of the year because if I got into the game industry it would probably be in the audio field. I think the career practices should be removed from AGAD but not ignored just moved to a lower class so it doesn't hold up the class at the start of the year. The course can be improved by starting unity earlier so we are not in a rush. This course has taught me how to be self motivated in the last quarter because there was no due dates. My game is still a work in progress. I finally got the Helicopter to move. However I am still trying to get the helicopter to rotate when the player moves the mouse. After a week long struggle I got the helicopter able to move up and down with the mouse scroll wheel. I ran into a error where the Helicopter would start rotating on its own and then you loose control of the aircraft.
So I have now created a 2player Tank classic fight game following a tutorial from Unity. Let me just say that this was the most complicated game. From the controls of the two different tanks on the keyboard to being able to actually play the game. Also with the game is an unusual way to create the range of the shell you fire at the other tank. I found it difficult to code with the music and player sounds. But coding has always been my weak spot.
So in a summary I
So now that i have the basic game pitch. I have decided to add to it. The helicopter will take off from the base and have to find the soldiers. when the helicopter lands to rescue to the soldiers, they will run into the helicopter. However there will be a twist the helicopter will only be able to hold 3 passengers at a time, so the player will have to fly back to the base and let the soldiers unload from the helicopter before being able to take off again.
